SUBJECT: Summary of Traffic Activity for Avon
The following is the result of the installation of the speed counter and
analyzer that was recently put on Avon at approximately mid-block. The counter
was installed from Thursday, March 1, 1990 at 10:45 a.m. through Monday, March
5, 1990 at 2:45 p.m.
The counter registered a total of 761 vehicles and the average speed was 21
miles per hour. Listed below are speeds traveled at this location during the
surveyed time:
- 220 vehicles were traveling between 26 and 30 miles per hour.
- 40 vehicles between 31 and 35 miles per hour.
- 4 vehicles between 36 and 40 miles per hour.
- 1 vehicle exceeding 41 miles per hour. (This vehicle was traveling
between 41 and 45 miles per hour. )
The major concentration of traffic flow at this location was from 7:00 a.m. to
7:30 a.m. and also from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This concentrated traffic was
only on week days and was well under 100 vehicles for both time-frames.
