Parking Survey Letter 5-20-1992 May 20, 1992 CITY OF TIGARD
OREGON
Dear Resident:
Of the 225 parking survey evaluation forms we sent out, 45 ave been
returned. Of those, 38 indicated that the residential parking zone has
improved their neighborhood, and 7 indicated that things were unchanged.
I want to personally thank all of you who returned the survey forms
which have provide us with extremely valuable information as to how we
c;an cont_ nue tv work together to improve the quality of the
neighborhoods you live in.
There were numerous comments received throughout the survey that were
very positive in nature in regards to: not as many kids standing
around, less congestion and less litter, fewer high school cars driving
through the area, considerably less trash, fewer kids cutting through
yards to get to and from school, and one person indicated that there was
considerably less hassling of the younger students by the high school
students.
There were some concerns expressed in the survey regarding a continual
speeding car problem on 92nd. We will research ways to be more
effective in resolving speeding problems . There were also 6 requests to
shrink the parking zone to a smaller area, and that information is being
evaluated now to determine if that would have a detrimental effect .
The principal of Tigard High School has agreed to continue the same
funding for the first 100 permits requested for the next school year.
We are also looking at a different type of permit that will stick better
when switched from car to car.
Again, thank you very much for the input . I will be corresponding with
you once we have addressed the issues and concerns that were raised.
If anyone would like to see a copy of the surveys that were returned,
they are available at the front counter of the Police Department or can
be mailed out upon request .
If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding the parking
zone, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Ronald D. Goodpaster
