I have provided one detail followed by four pages of your drawings. The following notes and adjustments are applicable. My attached notes show the basis for the beam sizes. 1. Joists are 2x8,with 2'max spacing(16" required with synthetic decking)—see Al. 2. Beams are either 4x6 #2DF with three support posts (A2) as shown on drawing pages 2 &5 or 4x8 with two support posts(A3&A4)(not shown). For the two support option, space the supporting post/footings 11' apart. 3. Allyson Armstrong From: Stan Moore (work) <stan@mooredecks.com> Sent: Friday, December 28, 2018 4:57 PM To: Allyson Armstrong Subject: Worth deck Attachments: latteral.pdf Hello Allyson, This is the reply I received from the engineer that signed and stamped my plans: They keep expanding the Code section on decks. Here is a relevant piece of the 2017 IRC Code.Oregon's Residential Code hasn't caught up with the International Code, so the numbering is different. It looks to me that 2017 ORSC R507.2.4 is pretty much the same as 2017 IRC 507.9.2. So at each end of the deck you need either one DTT2Z or two DTT1Z connectors. This is in line with your plans and the email I sent yesterday about adding a note to Page 2B. You can access the Oregon Residential Code at https://codes.iccsafe.org/content/document/1018 Brian end of email. I have attached the cross bracing for the lateral support for the stairs as my engineer informed. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you, Stan PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL SO I KNOW IT WAS RECEIVED. THANK YOU.
