Geibel SUBJECT:CT Access Request FROM: ' E6 sera ct Eng -neer .„.. Profes5riortai Medical Building TO: Frontage MEMO TO THE FILEFronta e`Rd-/Gaarde St./ Canterbury Square On this date Ron Failmezger and I met with Paul Yang and another representative from Randall Construction Company at Canterbury Square Shopping Center. The purpose of this meeting was to review their access proposal onto the ' frontage road at the southeast corner of their property adjacent to Canterbury '" ti Proposal p.:s Square. A. copyof theirro oAal is attached. : I feel that this proposal is unacceptable primarily for safety reasons. Traffic exiting 99W at the Canterbury Square ramp is traveling 'too fast at this point. Those intending to use the subject access would conflict with*vehicles entering • U• the shopping center from the Gaarde Road entrance ramp. The original intent of Randall Construction Company to gain access to the fron.age road via an easement through the Canterbury Square property in front of Radio Shack. The manager of the shopping center has refused to allow this, Mr. Yang reminded us that in our property taking from Grace Tigard Houghton in 1972 allowed unlimited access to the frontage rad„ I advised him that I • still felt their proposed access to the frontage toad would notbe safe and would not write a permit for their proposal as shown. We have suggested that they look into the possibility of a right-turn out only configuration that would merge with the ramp traffic further to the south approximately midway between their property line and the first Canterbury Square access. They will present this proposal in the near future. 3 cc: Al*. ie Howard -- City of Tigard Frank Currey - City of Tigard Chief Robert Adams - Tigard police Ed Hardt Ron railme2ger ,r II h_ .,,..Iu». .,w..__....v.a .., ,..+, tl, ..
