Main Street Property Offered for Redevelopment
The City of Tigard's urban renewal agency, the City Center Development Agency (CCDA),is offering a
property for acquisition and redevelopment on Main Street in its rapidly revitalizing downtown.
Downtown revitalization spurred from urban renewal has led to greater street improvements on Burnham
and Main and fagade improvement programs for downtown businesses, and attracting the 165-unit
"Attwell off Main"mixed use development. The amenities are transforming downtown Tigard into a
desirable place to develop, live, work and play.
The Main @ Fanno property is a 17,994-square-foot site ready for redevelopment.
"The site is highly visible with frontage on Main Street,Highway 99W, and Fanno Creek," said Community
Development Director Kenny Asher. "It's an attractive site for a developer, as the site already has land use
approvals for the city for a mixed use building."
The city expects existing land use approvals on the property will entice offers for developers looking to
make a move to downtown.
The CCDA acquired the Main @ Fanno property as a Brownfield site, a vacant or underused piece of land
due to the presence of hazardous substance or contaminant. Site cleanup is being funded by an EPA
Brownfield grant awarded to the City Center Development Agency of the City of Tigard in 2016,which
will play a critical role in developing the underutilized properties on the city's main walking street.
Brownfield redevelopment can promote population and environment health by addressing potential
contamination of the site and encouraging healthy spaces and places. The existing buildings on site will be
demolished this spring and summer. Developers who are interested should submit the following by Feb.
27:
A.A Letter of Interest that describes the responder's vision for site development.
B. Preliminary offer terms for acquiring the property.
Developer interviews will be held in late March. Full details are available at www.tigard-
