In this month's issue, we focus on upcoming opportunities to get outside and enjoy the incredible fall weather. You might have noticed recent changes to our communications. We think the following three initiatives begin to address your interest in more timely information on city news and events. This Week in Tigard is updated every Monday to include what happened last week and what's ahead this week. Why Wednesday responds to your questions about the city. We've covered topics like budget reductions, urban coyotes, and Main Street improvements. Your Tigard makes it easier for you to share your input on key city projects like Universal Plaza and Tigard's Outdoor Museum. Fall into an Active October Mayor's Corner: October Walk & Roll Challenge October in Tigard is beautiful! Along with the cooler temperatures and amazing fall colors comes a variety of events aimed at helping residents get outside and be active. I challenge you to walk, bike, or stroll to at least one of these great opportunities. We Walk. We Bike. We Learn. Expectations are high for Walk and Bike to School Day on Wednesday, October 10. That was the agreement he made with an officer who found him stumbling out of bushes near the bar. Before the bouncer could call for a ride on his behalf, the patron slinked away, his car taillights in full view as he sped off towards Tigard. Rules of the Road: Light Up the Day & Night The defendant admitted in court that he drove without headlights on Hwy 217 after midnight. He explained that the lights were working properly, but he forgot to turn them on. Traffic was light, and the defendant had an excellent driving record, so the $165 presumptive fine under state law was reduced.
