Based on the reference information you provided as listed below, we understand that the new chiller weighs less than the existing unit being replaced and the original chiller. • The new Trane 180-T chiller weighs 9,526 lbs. with an operating weight of 10,101 lbs. • The nameplate data on the existing chiller indicates that the unit is a United Technologies Carrier model number 23X11010NC20. Based on cut sheet data provided, the weight is 9,750 lbs. with an operating weight of 11 ,055 lbs. • Original mechanical drawings in the penthouse room are dated from 1974 and were prepared by Key Engineering Co, Santa Fe Springs, California. The schedule on the drawings indicates that chiller 'CH-1' was manufactured by York with an operating weight of 14,000 lbs., which is more than either the current chiller or the proposed replacement chiller. We were not able to verify the design capacity of the penthouse floor slab, as original drawings for the structure were not available from either owner representatives or the City. Further, means and methods of rigging and installation of the new chiller are beyond the scope of our review.
