Call to Order and Roll Call The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Wayne Gross. 2. Approval of Minutes: May 14, 2018 Claudia Ciobanu moved to approve the May 14, 2018 meeting minutes. Dave Brown seconded the motion. The minutes were approved by a unanimous vote of the board members present with Wayne Gross, Linda Shaw, Claudia Ciobanu, Scott Winkles, Dave Brown, Troy Mears, and Ben Holmes voting yes. 3. Comments from the Audience Neal Brown complimented the City of Tigard Parks for the activation of Cach Park. 4. Recognition of PRAB Members • Mr. Gross announced that it was the final PRAB meeting for two of the members, and presented each of them with a plaque of recognition for their service: o Troy Mears ■ Served for 9 years on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Troy said the highlights were working on the Bond Measure, which helped add 160 acres to The City of'Tigard Parks. o Linda Shaw ■ Served for 4 years on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Linda said it was a great experience. Linda was a big advocate for the recreation program and Bull Mountain Park. • Mr. Martin introduced 4 new members that will be joining the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board next month. new alternates Darlene Dick, and Sean Ernes, along with new voting member Ellen Seminara and Tristian Irvin 5. Update on the Operating Levy and the PARF • The Recreation Program budget was reduced after the levy did not pass. • Next year the Recreation Program will be eliminated due to budget cuts. • Parks budget will be reduced by about $300,000. • Brian Rager, will speak regarding PRAF at the July 9 meeting. Discussion of Transient Lodging Tax Nothing new to report at this time. 7. Parks and Recreation Updates Mr. McKnight gave the following updates: • Summerlake tennis courts resurfacing is complete, and new painted lines include lines for "Pickleball". • Summerlake irrigation renovation is complete. • There is an upcoming onsite meeting with City Engineers in regards to doing more survey work on the Tualatin River Trail from Cook Park to 108' Ave. • Parks Staff is busy preparing for the Balloon Festival, at Cook Park June 22, 23, & 24, and for the Tigard Little League District Baseball Tournament the following weekend. Mr. Martin gave the following update: • Recreation held their "Summer Kick Off Party" on June 9 at Cook Park, and approximately 70 people attended. • Recreation is seeing an increase in vendors wanting to advertise at events and in the activity guides. • Recreation will host 4 movies and one concert in the park this summer. 8. Non —Agenda Items + Ryan from the TCAC introduced himself and spoke briefly on the SW Corridor project that TCAC is currently looking at. 9.
