RHIANNON GIDE WAS A beautiful, powerful album grounded in the folk tradition by North
Carolina singer-songwriter and banjoist Rhiannon Giddens.
Freedom Highway is her solo album of haunting songs based on
slave narratives from the 1800s, African-American experiences of
the last century and the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, as
well as headlines from the streets of Ferguson and Baltimore today.

K-pop is known for its super-groups of young idols, pop music
mixed with hip-hop, signature dance moves, elaborate videos, live
shows and lots of lip gloss. The genre has been a force in Korean
pop culture in the early 90s, but lately it's become a global
phenomenon! Check out this collection of hits from one of the
biggest groups in K-pop history.

Rock opera is a form of storytelling; songs work together to tell a tale. In
this take on the genre, Paper Canoe Company performs a family-friendly
rendition of Jack and the Beanstalk. Get ready for rollicking rock songs,
rhythmic a cappella and a slow jazzy number.

then you are aware that Library Assistants are pretty tough. While I haven't fought a magical
creature recently, I have tackled weird patron account issues and located books that have...
disappeared." Not only is she an avid reader, Cally also writes poetry and short stories.

1. What do you like best about working here?
Working with volunteers! On Saturday mornings the library
is invaded by a gaggle of helpful teenagers in various stages of
Y being awake. I get to train them to put library materials on the
shelves. These kids are wonderful! They give their Saturday
mornings to their community.
