Stevens EPTMBrand of TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin)
General Description , •
•
Stevens EP" field sheet membrane is an ethylene propylene, polyester scrim
reinforced roofing material. Stevens EPTM membranes meet the ASTM D-
6878-03 specification for TPO roofing materials and is manufactured in an ISO
9001:2001 facility. 1 $
Stevens EP'" field sheet membrane is manufactured by a proprietary calen- :,:!
dering process and consists of two thicknesses of Stevens EPTM compound
that fully encapsulate the reinforcing scrim. The base polymer used in the t•
Stevens EPTM membrane is by definition Ethylene Propylene. It is made by a
two phase, in- reactor polymerization of monomers with a very specific catalyst.
The elastomer phase is a non - vulcanized ethylene propylene which imparts the
compound with flexibility and low temperature properties. The olefin phase
imparts chemical and tear resistance and enhanced strength to the blend and
enables the product to be heat welded.
The finished polymer is then compounded by Stevens. UV stabilizers, flame retardant, and other ingredients
are added to give this product the physical properties it needs to perform long term on the roof.
Installation
The membrane may be mechanically attached, fully adhered, ballasted or installed as a vented roofing system
(VRS) or GardenTop' Roof System. Reference CSI Div. 7 Specifications and Stevens Roofing Detail Drawings.
