SECTION 08325 - ACCESS DOORS
1.00 GENERAL
1.01 WORK IN OTHER SECTIONS

1.02 RESPONSIBILITY
Each trade installing concealed work, to which access must be available and /or required, shall
furnish access doors and frames as herein specified to the General Contractor for installation under
Section 06200.
2.00 PRODUCTS
2.01 ACCESS DOORS
A. Access Doors shall be "Milcor" Style DW, AT, or ATR as manufactured by INLAND STEEL
PRODUCTS CO., or approved equal. Sizes shall be as shown on plans, in no case smaller than 2'-
0" x 2' -0" where human passage is necessary.
2.02 LOCATION
As called for in this specification, access doors in the entire building at all enclosed and inaccessible
furred areas, such as enclosed areas under stairs, furred ceiling areas where height of furred area
is 2' -0" or greater, etc. Location of access doors to be determined on job site by Architect.
Inaccessible furred areas include all exterior canopies and overhangs.
2.03 LOCKS
Lock shall be flush, screwdriver operated, with metal cam in all interior areas. Key operated with
cylinder lock in all exterior areas or where shown on drawings requiring same.
2.04 FIRE RATING
Access panels penetrating a one -hour firewall shall be one hour rated type access door with Fire
Underwriter's Label.
2.05 FINISH
All access panels installed in walls and ceilings, called for on finish schedule to be painted, are to
receive paint. Color to match adjacent walls /or ceilings.

SECTION 08700 - FINISH HARDWARE
1.00 GENERAL
1.01 DESCRIPTION
In the Door Schedule on the Drawings, hardware is listed for the various doors.
1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED IN OTHER SECTIONS
Electric panel doors
Access doors
Toilet compartment doors
Installation of finish hardware is described in Section 06200 of these Specifications.
1.03 CODES AND STANDARDS
A. Comply with all pertinent codes and regulations regarding exits. Verify that hardware specified
herein complies in all respects with those requirements and promptly notify the Architect of all
discrepancies.
B. Hardware finishes listed are U.S. Department of Commerce "Standard Finishes for Builders
Hardware ", except where proprietary finishes have been taken from manufacturer's catalogs.
1.04 SUBMITTALS
A. Within 15 days after award of contract, and before any materials or items are purchased, submit to
the Architect a complete schedule of all finish hardware proposed to be installed, giving
manufacturer's name and catalog number for each item. This shall in no way be construed as
permitting the substitution of items for the specific items described in these Specifications unless the
item is found to be not available in time for installation in this Work and the substitution is approved
by the Architect.
B. Carefully study the Drawings and these Specifications and determine all finish hardware required for
the proper and complete finishing of the Work. Include all required finish hardware in the submittal,
whether or not the item is included in the Hardware Schedule.
1.05 PRODUCT HANDLING
Furnish all hardware with each item clearly marked or numbered for easy cross - reference with the
Hardware schedule. Deliver all finish hardware to the job site in the original containers with all
labels intact and legible. Verify that each item is complete with all necessary pieces and is properly
wrapped and cushioned to prevent damage prior to installation.

Finish Hardware
2.00 PRODUCTS
2.01 FASTENINGS
Furnish all hardware complete with all necessary screws, bolts, and other fasteners of suitable type
and size to anchor the hardware in position for hard use and long life. All fastenings shall
harmonize with the hardware as to material and finish. Furnish fastenings where necessary with
expansion shields, sex bolts, toggle bolts, or other anchors approved by the Architect, according to
the material to which the hardware is to be applied and the recommendations of the hardware
manufacturer.
2.02 LOCKSETS AND CYLINDERS
A. Verify operation, hand of doors, and function for each opening as scheduled and furnish heavy -duty
lock cylinders with 2 -3/4" backset.
B. Verify finish to match doors.
C. Six (6) pin lock cylinders only by Best Lock Co. to conform to Owner master key system.
D. Furnish matching lock cylinders for special doors as scheduled where the lock is furnished by door
manufacturer.
E. Provide lock reinforcing units to hollow metal door manufacturer as required.
F. Provide lock and latch bolt -front plates to match bevel of door edge where required for flush fit.
G. .Provide lever- handled operation at each door and side required to be handicap accessible by the
Oregon Codes or ADA.
H. Furnish construction cores for cylinders. Permanent cores and keying will be furnished and
installed by Owner.
2.03 KEYING
A. Provide two keys for each lock.
B. Locks shall be keyed alike or keyed differently, in accordance with keying schedule to be approved
by the tenant prior to keying.
C. All locks shall be master - keyed.
D. Tag each set of keys with cloth tag, labeled with door number. Furnish four (4) of each master key.
Send by registered mail to Owner.
Key all locks to Owner master key system. Key all locks per Architect's instructions and Owner's
requirements.
Furnish six (6) master keys. Send by registered mail direct from lock manufacturer to Architect.

3.00 EXECUTION
3.01 DELIVERIES
' Make all necessary trips to the site to deliver finish hardware items in a timely manner to permit
orderly progress of the Work. Stockpile all items sufficiently in advance to ensure their availability in
the time sequence required.
3.02 HARDWARE SCHEDULE
Furnish the items in the amounts indicated on the Drawings or required for a complete and operable
facility.
