Type : RBF • Dear Westwood Corporation, • This is a Fire and Life Safety Plan Review and is based on the 1985 editions of the Fire and Life Safety Code (USC), Mechanical Fire and Life Safety Code (UMC), Uniform Fire Code (UFC), and other local ordinances and regulations. Where walls are within 20 -feet of property line, they shall be of not less than one -hour fire resistive assembly. Con- cern for protection is with the eave and the use of 5/8 inch type X gypsum board on the inside wall surface. Please verify protection of eave with one -hour assembly. USC Table 5A Provide not less than one 2- A:10 -B :C fire extinguisher. UFC Standard 10 -1 Properly hang the extinguisher(s). Extinguishers over 40 pounds gross weight shall be hung so that the top is not more than 3 1/2 feet above the floor; those of lesser weight may be hung with their tops up to 5 feet above the floor. UFC STDS 10 -1 Sec.1 -4.8 Mount the fire extinguisheh(s) in a central conspicuous location. Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in 'the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or set on shelves unless the extinguishers are of the wheeled type. The unlatching of any leaf shall not require more than one operation. UBC 3304(c) Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.
