The Roof Reinforcer
SCOPE
This report, and any associated plans and calculations, have been developed for the sole purpose of
assessing the adequacy of the roof structure at the address listed to support specific new roof mounted
HVAC equipment listed within this report under gravity loads.
Where included in this report, lateral load connections to curbs above the roof have been provided as a
courtesy to the client. These connections may be safely used if the equipment suppliers or the curb
suppliers or the installation contractors have not provided alternative properly engineered connections.
Investigation, analysis and design of seismic bracing or connections of either new or existing HVAC
accoutrements such as ducting have not been requested by the client and are not included in the scope
of this report. Should assistance with these items be desired, please contact the preparer of this report
and we will provide you with appropriate and professional guidance.
THE USE OF THIS REPORT
This report is for the exclusive use of our client and for the sole purpose for which it was created. Other
persons or companies or subsequent tenants or subsequent owners should not rely upon any portion of
this report for any other purposes. Should others persons or companies be interested in any item in this
report, they are invited to contact the preparer and we will provide you with appropriate and
professional guidance.
SITE VISIT
The companying issuing this report has performed a site visit. The site visit was for the purpose of the
scope described above and for no other purpose. The site visit did not include any observations or
investigations beyond what was useful for this precise scope. The site visit obtained general data on the
basic roof framing system and certain specific data on certain typical roof structure elements supporting
the equipment to be replaced. The data may be represented in this report as approximations and
therefore no data, such as dimensions, should be relied upon by any other trade or professional without
additional confirmation. The site visit shall not be construed as acceptance by an engineer of any
defects or deficiencies or damages that may or may not exist in the structure.
DISCLAIMER
This report is not an exhaustive structural assessment of the structure as a whole, nor of any parts of the
structure. The report relies upon presuppositions that are generally understood in the engineering
community. Such presuppositions include that the building and any subsequent modifications were
properly designed and permitted;and that the materials used were properly graded and constructed.
Therefore a minute inspection was not performed and no destructive testing was performed. This
report therefore may not be deemed in any way at all as warrantee that the building as a whole or any
of its parts are structurally sound for any other purpose. Specifically this report shall not be used or
relied upon in the selling or purchasing or financing or leasing or insuring of the building. If such
occasions arise, such persons are welcome to contact the preparer and we will do our best to provide
you with appropriate and professional guidance.
