THE LINE ITEM FOR ADDING ADDITIONAL SIDING IS BASED ON LOCATIONS REQUESTED BY OWNER VIA EMAIL ON 01/15/2018 AND SPECIFIED IN THE"ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS/QUANTITY BREAKOUT"DATED 01/29/2018- • REMOVE AND REPLACE LP LAP SIDING AT SELECTED LOCATIONS. • NEW SIDING QUOTED AS"PREVAIL"FIBER CEMENT SIDING. • WINDOWS IN AFFECTED AREAS TO BE FLASHED IN PLACE TUCKING FLAT STOCK METAL BEHIND THE SILL FLANGE OF THE WINDOW, APPLYING (1) LAYER OF 25MIL SELF- ADHERED MEMBRANE FLASHING (SAMF) ON THE JAMB/HEAD FLANGES OF THE WINDOW, AND THEN INSTALLING A PIECE OF PROPERLY SLOPED AND END-DAMMED 26GA. METAL FLASHING ON TOP OF THE WINDOW. ALL METAL AND SAMF PRODUCTS TO BE PROPERLY INTEGRATED INTO THE EXISTING/NEW WEATHER RESISTIVE BARRIER (WRB). To BE CONSISTENT WITH THE EXISTING ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF THE PROPERTY, SIDING WILL BE BUTTED UP TO THE WINDOWS AND A FILLET STYLE SEALANT JOINT WILL BE INSTALLED. THIS TYPE OF SEALANT TREATMENT IS NOT INDUSTRY STANDARD AND IS PRONE TO FAILURE. WINDOWS NOT FULLY EXPOSED BECAUSE EXISTING SIDING IS SCHEDULED TO REMAIN IN PLACE MAY NOT BE FULLY TREATED. • AT AREAS WHERE WALLS ARE FULLY EXPOSED DURING SIDING REMOVAL, THE EXISTING WRB WILL BE REPLACED WITH NEW TYVEK DRAINWRAP WRB. AT LOCATIONS WHERE NOT ALL OF THE SIDING IS BEING REPLACED, NEW WRB WILL BE PROPERLY INTEGRATED WITH THE EXISTING. WE ARE ASSUMING THE EXISTING WRB IS IN ADEQUATE CONDITION FOR THIS MEANS OF INTEGRATION. • AT LOCATIONS WHERE SIDING IS BEING REPLACED ON BOTH SIDES OF AN OUTSIDE CORNER,THE EXISTING WOOD TRIM WILL BE REPLACED WITH FIBER CEMENT TRIM. AT LOCATIONS WHERE SIDING IS ONLY BE INSTALLED ON (1) SIDE OF AN OUTSIDE CORNER OR NOT ALL OF THE SIDING IS BEING REPLACED,THE EXISTING TRIM WILL BE RESET IN A LIKE FOR LIKE MANNER. No SEALANT WILL BE INSTALLED WHERE CORNER TRIMS ARE INSTALLED ON TOP OF THE SIDING. • AT LOCATIONS WHERE RADIUSED WOOD GABLE VENTS ARE FULLY EXPOSED DURING SIDING REMOVAL, EXISTING WOOD VENTS WILL BE REPLACED WITH NEW VINYL GABLE VENTS SIMILAR TO MATCH THOSE INSTALLED DURING RECENT REPAIRS. EXISTING SQUARE GABLE VENTS WITH FLANGES WILL BE FLASHED IN PLACE IN A SIMILAR FASHION AS THE WINDOWS. • AT LOCATIONS WHERE ELECTRIC METERS ARE FULLY EXPOSED DURING SIDING REMOVAL, METERS WILL BE PROPERLY TREATED IN PLACE WITH SAMF AND METAL FLASHINGS, INCLUDING PROPERLY DIMENSIONED, SLOPED, AND END-DAMMED METAL HOODS TO FULLY CAP THE METER. • AT LOCATIONS WHERE EXHAUST HOODS ARE FULLY EXPOSED DURING SIDING REMOVAL, PENETRATIONS WILL BE TREATED WITH QUICKFLASH PANELS, SAMF, FIBER CEMENT BLOCKS, BLOCK HEAD FLASHING, AND NEW HOODS CONNECTED TO THE EXISTING DUCTING. For application rates refer to paint manufacturers specifications.Back-rolling is recommended if the siding is sprayed. ■ ColorPlus Technology Caulking,Touch-up&Laminate •Care should be taken when handling and cutting James Hardie ColorPlus products.During installation use a wet soft cloth or soft brush to gently wipe off any residue or construction dust left on the product,then rinse with a garden hose. •A finish nail is required for installing 4/4 and 5/4 HardieTrim boards. •Touch up nicks,scrapes and nail heads using the ColorPlus Technology touch-up applicator.Touch-up should be used sparingly. If large areas require touch-up,replace the damaged area with new HardieTrim board with ColorPlus Technology. •Laminate sheet must be removed immediately after installation.Nail head touch-up can be done before or after removal of the laminate sheet when using finish nails.The preferred method is to touch-up while the laminate sheet is in place.Remove the laminate sheet before paint dries. •Terminate non-factory cut edges into trim where possible,and caulk.Color matched caulks are available from your ColorPlus product dealer. •Treat all other non-factory cut edges using the ColorPlus Technology edge coaters,available from your ColorPlus product dealer.
