City of Tigard, Tigard, Oregon. 3entIemens Acting as the authorized agent of the Corporation of the Catholic Archbishop of Portland, who is the owner of the property of St. Anthony's Church in Tigard, I am answering your letter of September 27th, 1962. We must object to the change of Zone from Residential to General Commercial C-2. Commercial operations would constitute a marked hazard to the lives of the children of school . Such Operation would also aid to the already serious problem of noise. The highway creates a great disturbance in class room operations. Further disturbances would he intolerable. Many types of Commercial operations also interfere with the conduct of the Church. Some are round the clock and every day. This would disturb funerals and other week-day services. It would like- wise interfere with the regular Sunday Services. At .he cost of many thousands of dollars, the Church wa!s built away from the highway in order to escape industrial noise. To add to the Commercial Zoning of Grant Street, S.N. Johnson, or S.W.
