If an Executive Session is called to order,the appropriate ORS citation will be announced identifying the applicable statute.All discussions are confidential and those present may disclose nothing from the Session. Meeting Type: Council Workshop Mtg. Public Hearing: No Publication Date: Information ISSUE This is the regularly-scheduled annual joint meeting between City Council and the Tigard Library Board. STAFF RECOMMENDATION /ACTION REQUEST Update only. No Action requested. KEY FACTS AND INFORMATION SUMMARY The Tigard Library Board will meet with the City Council to discuss/update the current operations of the library and to provide information to City Council on overall library operations. The Library had a busy 2016-17 fiscal year and circulated 1.2 million items,had 27,349 program attendees,and added 33,540 new items to the collection. Popular databases that are provided to the public for free include Lynda.com which provides video courses for technology topics including software and business skills and Mango Languages for learning over 70 languages.Patron satisfaction is a record-breaking 98.6 percent per the 2018 Library survey. The Library Board's budget priority is to maintain services to the public.This includes open hours,programs for kids and seniors,and books and DVDs for the public. In the future the Library Board would focus on a library branch to serve the growing population of Tigard. OTHER ALTERNATIVES Not Applicable.
