workshop scheduled later in the year.

Call to Order 7:05 PM
Roll Call Susan Carver, Jane Miller, Susan Mueller, Walt Munhall,
Peggy Ober, Dorene Thomas. Excused: Dick Bendixsen.
Guests: Karrin Hawes, George Anne Miller, Barbara White.
Minutes Minutes for December 4 were corrected to add Board member
Peggy Ober as present. Corrected minutes were approved.
Monthly Report Librarian reviewed report for December 1984. There was
discussion concerning use of volunteer storytellers and
WCCLS business.
Friends of the Susan Mueller gave an update on the rummage sale being
Library planned by Helen Steyaert and her committee. The next
meeting for the Friends will be on Tuesday, February 5,
at the Library.
LSCA Funds Librarian announced that $317,000 is available to Oregon
libraries in 1985 through the Library Services and Con-
struction Act (a Federal program for libraries) for con-
struction projects. Letter of intent is due February 1.
Walt Munhall discussed various options since the money may
be used for furnishings and fixtures as well as construction.
Rotary Project Munhall informed the Board that the Tigard Rotary was
amenable to having their gift be used for the young adult
area as designed by Ralph Appleman.
City Council Librarian announced that the library annual report was to
Workshop be presented to City Council in March. She requested that
Board members be prepared to discuss the presentation at
the February meeting.
Civic Center Susan Mueller presented an update on the Civic Center
project. (Susan Mueller serves as a member of the Civic
Center Advisory Committee.) The estimates have come in
and are only approximately $400 over, which is acceptable.
The committee is preparing the qualifications for con-
struction firms who will be able to bid on the project.
Mueller explained the need for and use of contingency
funds in such a project.
