Parrish reviewed the two serial levies which would also be considered by the
BOC, H $2.6 levy (to mainiain current services) kad been endorsed by all
cities except Beaverton. A $3 .2 levy would be presented Q the 80C as CAB' s
reromv' endation as well as the City of Beaverton' x . This latter le" wuu]d
provide for continuation of Access ' 86' a replacement fund for the computer
system and county-wide collection development ,
Parrish reviewed the People for Libraries Committee ' s plans to support the
levy oill appear an the March 31 ballot. He also gave a brief review of
roc, 'e"dations made by the Tri-County Library Task Force . The Task Force
concluded that a tri-county district is premature at this time .
Quarts : The minutes for January 12 were approved as written.
The Librarian distributed the monthlv [�p[rt� for January . Board discussed the
incrrssed work loads and expressed approval of the Concerned Citizens Comment
forms being used by the library to gather constructive criticism.
Susan Mueller report*d that thei6 f1.the_L_brary had voted to support
the People for Libraries serial levy campaign with $500 Board members
suggested the Friends issue free membership to all library volwnteeru .
Mueller will present this at next meeting .
Sue Carver reported on materials recently re:eiue6 frnm American Libraries
Trustees ion (ALTA) .

toward Hall Boulevard to be ready for any opportunity which might &riue.

Budget Librarian distributed information on the City of Tigard ' s nsw
5--year finanriaI plan per�.aining to the library . Discussian revolved around
the question of presenting a budget reflecting needs rather than one that is
feasible within the constraints of the plan. The Librarian reviewed
5t'ategios being considered for a FY 1987-88 budget that will reflect needs .
Librarian reported that data cntry is of
ir.crcnse in cvcryc:ay workload . New date for going on-line iv March 2 �

Policy which will include use of the Library ' s quiet room.
