MINUTES
Call to Order: 7:10 p.m., Board Member Vince Matar-rese presiding.
Roll Call: Susan Grossen, Carl Kostol, Leslie Wismer
Excused: Linda Monahan
Absent: Amo DeBenardis
Guest: (7:30 to 8:00) Liz Newton
Staff. Irene Ertell
Reports: Minutes for the December 10, 1990 meeting were approved as
written.
Monthly report for December was distributed by Library Director.
There was discussion on the Youth Services and Education Services
programs as well as the increased circulation over all and on
Sunday afternoon.
Cooperative Library Advisory Board (CLAB). There was no report
from the representative. Board members reviewed minutes from
the December CLAB meeting, discussing the "issue for distribution
of funds" and the capital needs study.
Library Policy Review Committee: The members met on January 8. Four sections of
the policy will be reviewed and reworded, if necessary, and
presented to the Board at the next meeting. Board members were
asked to contact Library Director if they wished to have other
sections reviewed.
Budget Fiscal Year 1991-1992: Library Director reported that the budget process will
begin January 16. Information for budget items is being solicited
from staff. The Library Director will report on progress at next
meeting.
Update on Library Issues and Project Library Director and Board members discussed
ongoing projects. There will be piano music on Sunday afternoons
beginning in February. AAUW member, Dorothy Worrall, will
coordinate. The Education Services staff is exploring means to
utilize the John Tigard House for office space.
