Roll Call: Susan Grossen, Carl Kostol Excused: Linda Monahan Absent: Vince Matarrese, Leslie Wismer Guest: Liz Newton Staff: Irene Ertell Re orfs: Minutes for the April 11, 1991 meeting were approved as written. The Monthly Re-port was distributed by Library Director. A 25.7% year- to-date growth in circulation was noted. Friends of the Library had no report. Cooperative Library Advisoly Board (CLAB)report presented by Library Director included an update on the capital needs committee's work. Budget FY 1991-1992: Library Director reported that the library budget was scheduled for consideration by the Budget Committee on May 13. Library Policy Revisions: Library Director reported that the four proposed revisions would be presented to the City Council at their study session on May 21. Their formal discussion and decision will be made at a later date. Update on Libraly Issues and Projects: The library will be dosed on Friday, May 10th for an all day in-house staff training. Library Expansion Program: The Library Director will meet with City Council on May 21 at their study session to present Phase I of the library expansion program and to request permission to apply for a grant of$150,000 from the Library Services and Construction Act Title H program. Vision 2000: Carl Kostol reported on the meeting he attended at the Oregon Library Association where the document, Vision 2000, was discussed. He indicated that much emphasis had been placed on achieving more cooperation between libraries as well as formation of larger units, e.g., library districts,of library service.
