November 12, 1991
MINUTES
Call to Order: 6:30 p.m., Chairman Amo DeBernardis presiding.
Roll Call: Yvonne Burgess, Jeri Cundiff, Susan Grossen, Marilyn Hartzell, Carl Kostol, Vince
Matarrese
Guest: Liz Newton, George Burgess
Staff: Irene Ertell
Reports: Minutes for October 10, 1991 were approved as written.
Monthly Report was reviewed by Library Director. Copies will be sent to Board
members.
Friends of the Library report was presented by George Burgess, President of the
Tigard Friends of the Library. The Friends will be decorating a room at the Pittock
Mansion for Christmas 1992. A letter is going out to solicit membership and gifts
for projects. Two recycling collection containers will be given to the Library. The
Friends are organizing a committee of citizens to plan for expansion of the Library.
Cooperative Library Advisory Board (CLAS.} report was not available inasmuch as
that meeting was to be held this same date at 7:00 p.m.
Mail Library Proiect: Library Director reported that she had conveyed the Board's wish to the City
Administrator that they be kept aware of developments in the establishment of a
library outlet at Washington Square. George Anne Miller, Senior Librarian, is
updating the plan.
Library Expansion Project: Board discussed formation of the committee to plan for the library expansion.
Possible funding sources were discussed. The Board will recommend that the FY
1991-92 "make whole" payment from the Washington County Cooperative Library
Services (WCCLS) be used for the library expansion project.
