Minutes were accepted.
NOTE: PBS is not required to approve its notes/minutes.
# 3 (5:09) Member and Guest Communications/Announcements
Joyce was in Sierra Vista, AZ, and they had a borrow a bike program through
the library. No charge. Jen said she would make contact with library director.
Joyce also had a map of mountain bike trails from Sierra Vista. Steve
Boughton - WCBTC has acquired a bunch (130ish) of single-speed bikes, step-
through frames that could be used for bikeshare. WTA is doing bikeshare
with Kaiser. They are using these bikes.
Stephan Belding is on the SWC CAC, and is liaison to Steering Committee, if
anyone has thoughts on bike/ped infrastructure for SW corridor.
S. Boughton announced Summer bike camp. Had NICE postcards on it. The
need instructors, and want to grow the program with more classes, more
weeks, more kids.
#4 (5:30) Tigard St Trail
Lloyd Purdy updated us on the Tigard St Trail project. Expect construction in
2018, community input in 2017. Will make the area behind Symposium event
space. Lloyd said the Taste of Tigard we be in this space on June 17.

Pedestrian-Bicycle advisory Sub-committee (PBS)
#5 (5:41) Tour de Parks/ Bike to Market
To hold the Tour de Parks, Sharon said we would need a Special Events
permit. She is not sure if we need insurance. Will need to coordinate with
police. Anthony had said he could staff the registration tent. Steve
Boughton did not want us to use the Tour de Parks name. No one seemed to
step up and be interested in leading this.
# 6 (6:20) Elections
Joyce won re-election as Chair. Jen Vasicek is Vice Chair. Ben Gooley is TTAC
Liaison.
#7 (6:25) Bike to Market
Jen suggested June 1111 as the best day for it. This is before school lets out.
There was some thought that we could do a few of these if it worked out.
Might want to have a valet parking area for bikes. Jen has spoken to the new
shop at Progress Ridge (Veloce), and Buff spoke to Bikeworks— both are
interested in participating.
We will discuss this at next meeting. There was a sense that focusing on the
Bike to Market this year, and possibly doing it multiple times over the
summer, might be enough for the group.

Transportation Project Update — March 22, 2017
Walnut Street (Tiedeman to 116th and intersection with 135th)
The contractor is paving the base layers of the widened roadway this week (weather permitting). Driveway
transitions and sidewalk preparation are scheduled next week. The project is adding sidewalks, bike lanes,
center turn lane, new sewer line, replacement water line, and underground utilities from 116th to Tiedeman,
and a traffic signal in place of the all-way-stop at the Walnut St/135th Ave intersection. Construction work is
planned until Summer. http://www.co.washington.or.us/LUT/TransportationProjects/walnut-st-116th-to-tiedeman-
and-135th-intersection.cfm
Scholls Ferry Road between 130th Ave and 135th Ave
A developer is building a new apartment complex between Scholls Ferry Rd and Hawksbeard St. Their work
includes repairing pavement and widening Hawksbeard and adding sidewalk along the apartment frontage,
and improving sidewalks along Scholls Ferry and 135th.
Hwy 99W Near Bull Mountain Road and along 109th Ave
A developer is building a new subdivision on the east side of Highway 99W across from its intersection with
Bull Mountain Rd. Some delays may occur between 9am and 3pm when the builder is working near Hwy 99W.
The developer is installing new water and storm drainage pipes under 109th Ave on the east side of the
subdivision south of Canterbury Lane.
River Terrace
River Terrace subdivisions are under construction on both sides of Roy Rogers Rd south of Scholls Ferry Rd,
and west of 150th Ave south of Bull Mountain Rd. The developer is constructing a new center turn lane on Bull
Mountain Road at 150th Ave to help mitigate their traffic impact. All of these developments will be adding
sidewalks and bike lanes along streets. If you have any questions, please contact Mike White at 503-718-2464.
691h Avenue/ Locust Street
Locust Street has been connected through to 69th Ave with construction of a new subdivision.
Interstate 5 Paving and Auxiliary Lane
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is working on design of a project to repave Interstate 5
from Hwy 99W to Interstate 205 that also includes a southbound auxiliary lane through the Lower Boones
Ferry Rd and Nyberg St interchanges. Construction is planned in 2018 and 2019. For more information see
the project website at: http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/REGIONI/pages/i5lbf.aspx
Traffic Signals on Bonita Road at 72nd Avenue and 74th Avenue
We have made some minor adjustments to the timing of the traffic signals at the intersections of Bonita Road
with 72nd Avenue and 74th Avenue. This should help the eastbound flow of traffic on Bonita Road during the
morning peak hour.
