#3 Member and Guest Communications/Announcements
During the meeting Jen V. made comment about new high density housing
development on SW Hawks Beard in Tigard. The expectation was that
development would add bike lanes on Hawks Beard, given the higher volume
of traffic that will need to use the street. Mike commented that city did not
require the development to add bike lanes as part of frontage improvements.
#4 Bike to Market (Jen)
The committee discussed PBS Bike to Market day. While everything went
well, turn out was less than hoped for. Discussion comments by committee
include Rose Festival was on same day; starting at 9AM may have been too
early; bike valet parking was good, well organized; Bull Mountain Farmers
Market also same day and could have affected turn out.
#5 New Members (Joyce)
• The committee has eight new applicants; a suggestion was made that
those interested should come to a PBS meeting. Jonny, Allen, Joseph,
and Linda were in attendance at June meeting, although not all stayed
for the entire meeting. Jonny and Allen were approved or accepted as
new committee members during the meeting.
• Basil would like to turn over note or minute taking to someone else on
committee; group will need to select a replacement.

pedestrians.
The presentation included details on why drivers are prone to speeding.
Some bad behavior is due to auto ads, drivers feel entitled, drivers in a hurry,
etc. The presentation included 4 ways to slow drivers and mentioned setting

on reducing travel speeds and driver behavior on local street. San Anselmo
