The applicant shall plant a replacement tree for each tree removed in accordance
with the Street Tree Planting Standards in Section 2, part 1 of the Urban Forestry
Manual. Existing trees may be considered as replacement trees if they meet all
applicable species, size, condition and location requirements in Section 2, part 1
and were not already required to be planted or preserved by the Tigard Municipal
Code.
This decision is final and valid for a period of up to one year after issuance unless
otherwise specified. Nothing prevents you from submitting another tree permit
application if the conditions and circumstances surrounding this removal have
changed.

RE: Summerfield Civic Association Tree Removal Permit Application and Arborist Report
I was hired by Carl Lindsey to conduct a root assessment and consultation for Summerfield Civic
Association. Based on my visual inspection and root assessment on August 15th 2017, I recommend the
removal and replacement two pear trees along SW Alderbrook Dr. (exact location on attached map).
The roots of these trees have been involved in the cracking and heaving of the sidewalk. Although root
pruning to allow for re-pouring was possible other areas, these two trees would not survive the
aggressive root pruning necessary to repair the sidewalk. The association was not interested in
alternative sidewalk solutions and therefore in order to restore the sidewalk to its original grade,the
trees will need to be removed and replaced. This is the final phase of the project. I have numbered the
trees 21 and 22, documented their location, diameter at breast height(DBH), included photos of each
and attached a map.
