1. RESIGNATIONS. During recent phone conversations with Rick Kronewitter,
both Jim Boylan (Chairperson) and Russell Head (Secretary) announced they
were resigning from NPO #7. In addition, Rick Kronewitter (Vice-Chair)
announced his resignation as he and his wife had purchased a house and were
moving out of Tigard's city limits.
2. ELEC`T'ION OF OFFICERS. Larry McGlinchy suggested that the election of
officers be postponed to the next meeting. This was approved and moved to
the first item on the March 21st agenda. Election of officers to include
chair, vice-chair, and secretary.
3. PROPOSAL TO REZONE. Lee Cunningham presented a letter from the BP Oil
Company offering to address the NPO regarding rezoning land at the
southwest corner of Scholls Ferry and North Dakota for a gas station. The
NPO decided it wanted to comment on this rezoning proposal and requested
the Planning Commission delay hearing and action on this issue until some
time after the March 21 NPO #7 meeting. NPO members expressed interest in
receiving written information from the City on this issue when the next
meeting's agenda is mailed out. NPO members were also interested in
securing a larger size conference room for this meeting. Lee Cunningham
took responsibility for inviting the BP Oil Company to the next NPO
meeting for an 8:00 presentation.
4. BULL MOUNTAIN TRANSPORTATION STUDY. No action was taken on the Bull
Mountain transportation study because there was not a quorum on NPO members
present.
5. RECRUITMENT T' OF NEW MEMBERS. Members expressed an interest in an active
recruitment of new members to fill vacancies on the NPO. The following
suggestions were made:
A. The City of Tigard should advertise openings on the NPO in a "City
Scape" section of "All About Town." A map of NPO #7 should be included
with this advertisement.
B. A similar ad should be run in the "Tigard Times."
C. Individual NPO members should bring friends and neighbors to future
meetings in hopes they would consider joining.
