03/22/1990 - Minutes NOTES FROM THE COMPUTER USERS MEETING
MARCH 22, 1990
o DIVISION UPDATES
POLICE DEPARTMENT - The Police Department has been having problems with
their file server. Bruce has got it narrowed down to two possible

far the reactions have been mixed.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT - CD has a computer out due to static
electricity. Use of a plastic chair mat in the area may be the culprit.
Bruce asks that plastic chair mats not be used. Please spread the word
to those in your department: plastic chair mats in the computer
environment may cause shock in the computers! A helpful hint from Bruce
on how to keep the static electricity in the work area down: pour 1 oz
Downy fabric softener in a spray bottle, fill the bottle rest of the way
with water. Spray the carpet area once per week.
The permit plan is working better. GIS still has some more work needed.
Clerical pool
is anxious tog et the business tax search function
operational. Bruce is handling the programming and promises it will be
available soon.
FINANCE - The Accounting software is coming along. They expect to be
on-line with A/P, general ledger and cash receipts this next week.
Springbrook is still working on A/R.
Burroughs is scheduled to be unplugged the end of April.
COURT - Jeff Olson will be doing the conversion for Court. No date has
been set for the change to the Springbrook system.
