City of Tigard Newsletter: August 2017 Edition Page 3 of 7 Mayor's Corner: Levy and Bond Advisory Task Force Dives in On July 20 we had the first meeting of our new Levy and Bond Advisory Task Force. This is a group of Tigard residents and business owners who will advise the City Council about future funding for city services and facilities. These are serious topics, and the conversations, both within the Task Force and with other Tigard residents, will undoubtedly be lively—which is exactly what we want. Read more... City Council Recap for July The City Council approved a resolution transferring property from Washington County to the city for land dedicated to roads and rights-of-ways on Bull Mountain Road and on parts of Roy Rogers Road. The council also discussed the city's approach to panhandling, and the group received briefings on downtown parking issues and how a transient lodge tax could be collected in the future. Read more... Changes Are Coming to Main Street You may notice a few changes on the west end of Main Street this month. The City Center Development Agency has been awarded a U.S. EPA grant to remove three buildings and clean up the properties of any contamination.
