MIN[FTES OF JUNE 20, 1989
Staff Present: Barrett, Jacobs, McReynolds, Irwin, Leichner, and Schmidt
Call to Order: Meeting called to order 7:05 p.m., minutes accepted.
Metro dump fee reduced $1/ton - as of June 1, works out to a
reduction of 5 cents/can - about 35 - 45 cents per yard for
commercial. Irwin moved that rate reduced 5 cents/can for
all customers if necessary take to Council. Jacobs seconded.
Motion - not passed. Barrett moved to leave rates as is-
Jacobs seconded - passed.
Yard Debris: Wayne handed out draft of Washington County plan - deferred to
next meeting.
Other Business: Jerry followed up on meeting with Coy Humphrey on cardboard
stealing - illegal hauler was caught and fined $500. Larry
said Coy was doing a good job. Jerry asked Wayne to thank
City employees for assistance. Larry - problem with
Albertson - pick ups are overweight. Mike stated that state
law requires hauling every seven days.
Wayne had a call from Janet Holmes - pays more for franchise
service than in Portland and wants to know why. Haulers
indicated that the Portland haulers are losing money on
service. Wayne will send a letter explaining pros and con of
franchise.
