ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Tuesday, January 15, 1991
MEMBERS PRESENT: John Savory, Paul Etchemendy, Amo DeBernardis,
Tony Orlandini, Brian Moore, Ron Pulliam
OTHERS PRESENT: Iry Larson, Liz Newton, John Acker
The meeting started at 7:30 a.m. and the minutes of the November
meeting were approved as revised.
Current development activity was identified. The potential for
future activity was discussed in general terms of the regional and
local economy.
It was announced that the triangle master planning process was put
on hold by the City Council. The Council decided that it would be
prudent for individuals on the Council to meet with local
developers informally to discuss the real potential of that area
and circumstances that must be overcome. Discussion followed with
the result that the committee chair agreed to draft a letter to the
City Council to express the concerns of the committee on this
issue.
Committee members examined the two alternative identified by the
Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) for improving the
I-5/Highway 217 interchange. The committee looked at the
configurations from the standpoint of effects on business
development. The committee agreed that Alternative A would be
preferable in that it provides a surface connection between Lake
Oswego and the triangle via Kruse Way and 69th.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00.
