Tuesday, August 21, 1990
MEMBERS PRESENT: Amo DeBernardis, Tony Orlandini, Paul Etchemendy
Brian Moore, Jim Corliss
OTHERS PRESENT: Liz Newton, John Acker
The meeting started at 7:40 a.m. and the minutes of the July meeting were
approved as written.
Status of developments and proposed developments was presented with discussion
following.
There was a discussion with several members expressing concern about the
proposed widening of Pacific Highway that would impose hardship on several
businesses adjacent to the project. There was general agreement that the City
should have input to the Highway Department regarding this project.
It was announced that the City is writing a Request For Proposals (RFP) for a
consultant to create a conceptual master plan for the Tigard Triangle. The
idea is for a consultant to identify realistic development scenarios and create
graphic depictions of typical elements of each scenario. One of these
scenarios would be selected as the most appropriate. The City would then
develop an implementation strategy and begin steps to bring the plan to
fruition.
A copy of the draft RFP will be sent to EDC members when it is ready. The
committee is asked to review the draft RFP and comment on what is being asked
for. A meeting will be held the first week in September in order to develop a
committee response. Committee comments will be forwarded to the City Council
and be taken into account when writing the final RFP which will be advertised
sometime in mid-September.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00.
