MEMORANDUM
CITY OF TIGARD' OREGON
TO: Economic Development Committee October 13, 1087
FROM: Randall R. Wooley, City Engin ^^
SUBJECT: Dartmouth Street LID »
As You requested, here is a brief status report on the Dartmouth Street LID
project.
On August 10th and September 28th, the City Council held a special hearing on
the LID to hear the concerns of the various property owners . At the
conclusion of the hearing, the Council directed staff to proceed with
preparation of the final construction plans and specifications for the
project. When the final plans are complete, it will be necessary to again
hold a public hearing to consider any revisions to the engineer' s rupurt.
That hearing will probably occur in November or December.
We hope to be able to advertise for bids in the spring and to build this
project next summer.
Traffic Prig ineeririg analysis suggests that other street improvements will be
needed in the Tigard Triangle as development occurs . In addition to
construction of Dartmouth Street and improvements to 72nd Avenue, we will
probably need an additional aooeoo route to the Triawglu in the futuru.
Planning for these improvements has already begun.
The Oregon Department of Transportation (0DOT) has commissioned a study of the
interchange access along Highway 217. 0DOT proposes to upgrade the Highway
interchanges at I-5 and at Highway 09W. Revisions of the 72nd Avenue
interchange will probably be necessary also. The City will he working with
0D0T to make sure that south auouon to the Triangle is addressed in
conjunction with the 0D0T study.
Also, this winter the City will be pursuing an update of its transportation
planning. As part of this planning process, we will need to coordinate with
the planning which your committee is doing for the Triangle area.
