12/28/1976 - Minutes MINUTES TIGARD SITE DEVELOPMENT AND ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN REVIEW BOARD December 28, 1976 - 5 : 00 P .M. General Telephone 9040 S .W. Burnham - Tigard, Oregon 1 . CALL TO ORDER: Meeting was called to order by Chairman McMonagle at 5 :25 P .M. 2 . ROLL CALL : Present : McMonagle, Cook, Goldbach and Olson . Staff : Bolen . 3. MINUTES : Cook moved and Goldbach seconded that consideration of the minutes be tabled to the January 14th meeting. 4 . COMMUNICATION: Bolen briefly discussed with the Board a scheme for relieving the heavy meeting load presently being experienced by the Design Review Board. This consisted of the Board acting as an appeal body with the staff administra- tion reviewing the submissions . The response of the members present was favorable to this proposal . 5 . DESIGN REVIEW: 5 . 1 SDR 1-76 Amendment to the architectural design of the Tigard Medical Clinic to allow a 3 ' x 30 ' wall sign on the west building face. A. Staff Report : Rather than read the prepared staff report , Bolen reported that the applicant had earlier in the day agreed to remove the reader board and gift shop portions of the sign. By so. doing, the Board ' s previous concerns over these two elements of the sign were eliminated. B. Board Action : Cook moved and Goldbach seconded to approve the sign as modified . 5 .2 SDR 45-76 Review of a proposed 8 , 000 sq . ft . office/industrial building on S .W . Landmark Lane . SITE DEVELOPMENT REVIEW A . Staff Report : Read by Bolen . B . Staff Recommendation : See staff report . C. Applicant 's Presentation : MINUTES TIGARD DESIGN REVIEW BOARD December 28, 1976 Page 2 Mike McGee from Sabre Construction described the needs of the tenant relative to the submitted site plan. He stated that moving the two parking spaces as recommended by staff would conflict with the truck loading facilities . D. Board Discussion : o Cook stated his agreement with the applicant that moving the two parking spaces is unadvisable . o McMonagle stated that this area on the cul-de-sac would have sufficient landscaping without moving the two parking spaces and especially if the sidewalk were placed adjacent to the curb . o Cook moved and Goldbach seconded to approve the submitted site plan subject to staff recommenda- tions #1 , 2, and 3 to be worked out by staff . Motion was approved by unanimous vote . ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW A. Applicant Presentation : Mr . McGee presented architecture . B. Board Discussion : Cook moved and Goldbach seconded to approve . Motion was approved by unanimous vote . 5 . 3 SDR 46-76 (Dickinson) Review of a proposed 20,000 sq . ft . warehouse/office at 7325 S .W. Bonita Road. Cancelled due to absence of submission . 6 . ADJOURNMENT: Meeting was adjourned at 6 :05 P.M.
