As such the holdowns specified are not able to be directly connected to the foundation. Recommendation: All shear walls and holdowns that sit atop a pony wall will use Detail 20 as shown in the attached sheet. This installation method will adequately transfer load from the shear walls through the pony walls to the foundation.
