Foundation Subgrade Review — Lots 1 and 2
GeoPacific engineering technician Eric Merritt was onsite to observe the foundation subgrade for Lots 1 and 2 at the
Walnut Ridge site. It is our understanding that the planned structures will consist of single-family residences utilizing
conventional spread footings.
At the time of our site visit, the foundation excavation for Lots 1 and 2 was complete and extended 1.5 to 4 feet below
the surrounding grade. The foundation bearing soils consisted of native silt soils, which were evaluated with a'h-inch
soil probe. Probing efforts indicated stiff soil consistency throughout the footing subgrade soils at each lot. The layout
of Lots 1 and 2 slope to the east, and the footing layout includes several short steps. Footing -to -slope setbacks were
evaluated and determined to be adequate. Footing -to -wall setbacks were not an issue. Based on observed conditions,
foundation subgrade soils as prepared are considered suitable to support the anticipated allowable bearing pressures.
