Main Tigard, Oregon 97223 October 27, 1971 Mr. Allan Paterson 11960 S.W. 121st Avenue Tigard, Oregon 97223 Dear Allan: It has come to my attention that there are still outstanding taxes remaining on the park property you deeded to the City after recording Brookway plat. These taxes are for the 1970-71 year and as I understand it, the plat was recorded by the county in September of 1969. If my memory serves me properly, I recall a considerable delay from September, 1969 until the deed for the park property and the deposit for street lighting took place. The county obviously could not exempt the park lands from taxes until such time as the actual deed to the City was recorded. File Doris Brookway Park Land 9/17/71 Talked to Mr. Paterson regarding the outstanding taxes for the park property. Said he would pay for 1/4 but not all as he did not own the land the full year. Explained to him that the taxes for 1970--71 would have to be paid even though X city property is non-assesabble . I also mentioned that if this was deed earlier there would have been no problem. Said he would check with county on this. Have checked the records and plat was recorded by county in C September of 1365 so there was plenty of time for him to turn this over to the city. I do not feel we should have to pay because of his delay. Paterson said he would check on it. 3 Y(7
