Weather: Cloudy, 40's Permit#: MST2016-00025
Site Visit Requested By: Jason (Polygon) Met With (on site) Jason
Purpose: Evaluate Deck footings lots 47&48, Evaluate lot 31 subgrade.
Outstanding Issues: FR 135-Soft disturbed subgrade surface areas for Lots 29, 30,32,ani*RESOLVED
TODAY*
I arrived on site and met with Jason who directed me to areas observed today,
Lot 47&48 Deck footings
I observed areas of deck footings of lots 47&48 that had been undermined during the process of the excavation for
new footings below preexisting footings. I was informed that crew would be backfilling undermined area with
concrete ting newly formed footing into preexisting deck footing,as well as backfilling preexisting deck footings
ting into continuous footings of the building. We understand that footing can be backfilled in the orientation.
I observed base rock that on site crew had placed in the preparation of concrete backfill of undermined footings. I
was informed that there was approx. 2"of crushed rock on the surface of the footing subgrade. Using a Y2"diameter
steel foundation rod I probed the base rock. Probing indicated loose base rock. I recommended that base rock be
compacted tell rock is well keyed before backfilling.
Lot 31 Subgrade
While on site I observed the subgrade for lot 31. Crew had place approx. 3"of crushed rock the surface of the
subgrade. Using a Y2"diameter steel foundation rod I probe the base rock. Probing indicated area of dense and loose
base rock, i'recommended that base rock be compacted-ten crushed rock is-well keyed.
I observed areas of silt that approx. 6"(or thicker)in depth that fell underneath what is to be a footing. I
recommended that crew remove silt for area before pouring footing.
Based on our observation and probing, in area observed today and indicated on attached site plan, expect areas of
undermined dock footings which are going to be backfill, were prepared in general acrodance with or geotechnical
recommendations.
