On December 29, 1986 an inspection was conducted at your home per your request.
The discovery of "dry-rot" in your shower prompted the request.
All of the the and gypsum wallboard had oeen removed from the tub/shower en-
closure at the time of inspection. Extensive rotting of wood stud framing in
the are- of the shower head around to the middle of the window was present.
(Obviously caused by excessive exposure to moisture).
Although it is not possible to ascertain the exact cause, there is a poosibil-
ity wEtter has sought a path between the aluminum window frame and the tile
grout to the wood framing. It appears tho the was placed very snugly against
the lip of the window frame which left little or no space to run a water seal
(caulking) between the frame and tile. Grout will Expand and contract differently
than aluminum leaving a pc,3sible hairline space between the two.
