and found the following:

OCCUPANCY:
Group H Division 3 Woodworking

Approximately 12 gallons of combustible (Class II) liquids
stored in original shipping container-, in open shelving.
Heating provided by overhead electric heater and gasoline
fueled non-vented contractor's heater. All electrical wiring
is common wlring throughout. Small electrical arc welder was
noted.
NEIGHBORHOOD:
Basically single family residential on north side of Hunziker
with the exception of property adjacent west, which is day care
facility. All these structures are Type V non-rated
construction. Across Hunziker to the south is light to heavy
industry structures of various types of construction .
CONCLUSION:
Due to the nature of this occupancy, this department would
recommend that woodworking, spray painting, and welding not be
allowed on a full time basis at this site. The Uniform
Building Gide would classify this operation as Group H Division
3 !wood working) , Group H Division 2 (spray painting with
flammable and combustible liquids) and under propar conditions,
Group B Division 2 or 4 (for welding operations) . The building
code and the fire code both require that these occupancies be
separated from one another with fire resistive construction .
Oregon Electrical Specialty Code (NEC) requires that protected
wiring systems be installed .in woodworking and spray painting
areas, Uniform Building Code requires that for buildings that
do not exceed 1,500 square feet and house Group H Division 2
and 3, .fire resistive wall protection be provided when the
structure is located within 20 feet or closer to property,
line (s) or from other buildings on the game property. The
building code also requires that two ex_`'_3 be provided from
Group H Occupancies exceeding 20G square feet in size.
In accordance with the Uniform Mechanical Code and Unitorm Fire
Code, contractDr's heaters are not allowed to be used in this
type of occupancy. Uniform Fire Code requires that storage of
flammable and combustible. Liquids in excess of ten gallons be
stored .in an approved flammable liquids cabinet .
