Air Conditioning1lumidity Requirements
Constant temperature and humidity are required to maintain dimensional stabil-
ity of film. Plotted output meets geometric accur!-cy specifications when oper-
ated at 20° C (70" F) and 40% Relative Humidity. These conditions are required
when multiple plots of the same image are to be produced. 'Rrnperature must
remain constant during all plots to ensure accurate registration. When geometric
accuracy is not required, the system may be operated over a temperature range
of 18-26° C (65-78° F) and a humidity range of 25-60%.

Refer to the table for a breakdown of the system's heat dissipation. Note that
heat generated by the unit's light sources is ducted directly from the room and as
a result is not a factor when determining air conditioning regljirements.

Ducted exhaust heat: 4780 BTU/hr (1400',N)
Suitable environmental conditions may be difficult to maintain if ducted exhaust
heat is not properly vented from the room. Optronics recorrimends venting the
laser exhaust through either a will or the ceiling using the Optronics suppled
venting kit.
The distance, from the system to the point of exhaust shouH not exceed 8 feet
(2.4 m) since heat build-up within the system will have a d.�trimental effect on
the life-cycle of some system components.
If the vacuum pump is installed in 'he same workspace as the unit (eltho u h this
is not recommended), the pump's ►,cat dissipation should he considered.

Vibration Specifications and Flooring Requirements
The FilmMaster 2000 system should be located in an at ea that is not sebject to
excessive vibration which may affect the quality of scans and plots or the align-
ment of the system's optics. Excessive vibration may br, generated by nearby
equipment such as machinery or elevators or from installation of the system on
inadequate flooring structure. Since the unit weighs 1400 lbs., which equetes to
an approximate load of 350 lbs. on each of the four leveling pads (or 1.30 lbs/sq ft
since the footprint of the unit = 10.8 sq ft), it is impe-ative that the floor of the
installation site be capable of supporting the full weil:ht of the system. Th^ sys-

upper level or wooden floors with poor understructure since these types of floors

Should you have any questions, please call .
1 . All panel edges at shear walls shall be backed with 2-inch nominal or
,.rider framing.
2. All hold-downs at each end of shear wall shall be on the inside of the
shear walls.
3. All bolts next to wood shall have washers.
4. All nails shall be commir, nails.
5. All hold-down rods for Lypical hold-down aL each end of the sr,ear walls
shall be A307 and the Dia specified under fasteners per Simpson catalog.
