The plans for this project were reviewed for conformity with applicable
codes. Please submit the following items for completion of the plan
review process at your earliest convenience:
�r IF the designated g property lines between buildings are true
_ property lines and not lease lines, all exterior walls less
than 20 feet from property lines to be one-hour rated with
protected openings less than 10 feet from such property lines
(Table 5-A) .
Z: As of January 1993, the western part of the state is in
seismic zone 3. Please review the seismic provisions of the
current UBC and resubmit any information that does not comply
with the new seismic zone.
3: Provide lateral load analysis for each building.
Provide shear transfer details for all shear walls and details
1/12 and 1/14 typical.
--5�- Provide post base connections for all concrete footings.
Provide a nailing schedule for all shear walls.
Fire blocking is required at all ceiling lines (2,,16(f)2) .

Since the one-hour fire-rated walls have wood penetrations
(ends of trusses) , all ceilings will be required to be 5/8
type X gypsum nailed to the bottom side of the trusses. Also,
the mansards to have 1/2 inch exterior gypsum under the metal
roofing and at exterior soffits where one-hour fire-rated
walls are detailed. The main building truss perpendicular to
the mansard trusses to have continuous 5/8 type X gypsum from
the ceiling to the bottom side of the roof deck.

11. Submit energy compliance forms for each building and detail on
the plans the insulation required for the crawlspaces, walls,
and Ceilings.
12: Detail location of foundation vents per 2516fc)6 for each
building.
13. Plumbing drawings for each building to be submitted beforet
plumbing permits can be issued.
14. Provide details for the handicapped bathrooms which comply
with current ADA requirements (Chapter 31) .

16: Submit a typical detail for handicapped signs required for

Dead bolts are prohibited. Exit doors shall be upenable from
the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge
or effort (3304(c) ) .
Rey-locking hardware may be used on the main exit of each
building if there is a readily visible, durable sign on cr
adjacent to the door stating, "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED
DURING BUSINESS HOURS" (section 3304(c) exception) .
lA� Provide a ground cover in all crawl spaces with a minimum of
6-mil black polyethylene or other approved material (5303(f) ) .
2$: Provide a drinking fountain for each tenant space per Table 5-
E which complies with current ADA requirements.
2-1. Submit a typical detail for installation of the suspended
ceiling for seismic zone 3.
