Dear Mr. Briggs:
There appears to be a prib.lem with regards to the siding on a house you
constructed at the above referenced address.
The front face of the building has been covered with cedar channel type siding
over a weather barrier, to studs spaced at 24 inches en center.
Section 2516(15) of the State Building Code requires that such siding with a
minimum thickness of 3/8 inches, be placed on studs at 16 inches to center
maximum, or when placed over 1/2 inch thick plywood sheathing, stud spacing
may be 24 inches.
I mint--:,m thickness stated would imply that siding of greeter thickness
could be placed direct to studs at spacing more than 16 im-.hes without
sheathing under..
Approval for this would require documen: .stion by the manufacturer that th(-,
91ding is designed for such application.
I have diprussed the need for such informirion on several occasions with you.
As of thiu date, no such document has been submitted.
You are hereby notified to correct this prob..eal by:
1. Removing siding, placing sheathing to studs and re-applying siding, or
2. Submit: proof of proper application to this o . ice.

Per your request of April 11, 1985 an 'nspect.ion was conducted on the siding
on your house.
The front portion of the building has been covered with a channel siding

(4) Regarding insulation we wrote Apri: 10th to the insulator to
come and make corrections to the floor insulation. When this
is done and has been crawled by us, we will be able to send

I have personally inspected it prior to closing.
