Dear Pastor Moyes :
The purpose of this letter is to confirm, for the record , our
discussion following the inspection of this building for the purposes
of determining requirements which must be addressed prior to housing
a school and kindergarten within the building.
In the first instance, the second story, due to :ts physical character-
istics and particularly the limited width of the exit corridor, could
not qualify without extensive remodeling. Also, fire safety regulations
governing schools prohibit housing kindergarten, first or second grade
Pupils above the first story. Therefore, we will not contemplate (nor
approve) utilizing the second story for the purposes under discussion.
The first story may be occupied for kindergarten and day school purposes
subject to the following stipulations:
1 . The access doors which open on to the exit corridors
must be fitted with self-closing devices sr that they
will close automatically and he held in a normally
closed position.
2. An approved manually operated electrically supervised
fire alarm sysLt,,-, i,iust be provided if more than fifty
children occupy the building at any one time. Prior
to the installation of the fire alarm system, complete
plans, therefore, must be submitted tc and approved by
this office.
3. All doorways not now fully completed and finished, and
which present an exposure to the path of exit (e.g. the
access door to the storage room beneath the front porch) ,
must be finished off and fitted with frame and casement.

Upon inspection of the Trinity Evangelical Church at the above address
on ,dune 5, 1973 the following violations were noted:
1. The deck in front of the church has no handrail.
Section 3305 of the Uniform Building Code requires
a handrail.
2. Five windows facir.8 the deck are less than eighteen
inches from the door. ;.section 5406 of the Uniform
Building Code reyuirer, the glass to be protected or
have glass that lt; subject do human impact.
3. Window at foot of stairs, lP;,e; t4an ei,;hteea inches
from the floor. Section x,406 of Uniform Building Code
requires the glass tv be protected or hhave glass that
is subject to human impact.
