Gentlemen: '
This is a Fire and Life Safety Plan Review and is based on the
1988 editions of the Fire and Life Safety Code (UBC) ,
Mechanical Fire and Life Safety Code (UMC) , Uniform Fire Code
(UFC) , and other local ordinances and regulations .
Plans are conditionally approved as submitted, subject to the
following items:
1 . Door #201 (new) appears to match section marked "Door
Types" , and door #201 in the door schedule is listed as
a 20 minute fire rated door. Door #209A is likewise
listed as a 20 minute fire rated door. Although not
indicated on the plans, this tenant space appears to
open out or into a 1 hour fire rated corridor. If this
is, in fact, the case, each of these doors and frames
must be a 20 minute smoke and draft approved assembly
of an approved type. Each must be equipped with
approved automatic closing devises .
2 . The wall section between the two doors mentioned above
would then, of course, have to be of an approved 1 hour
Ce fire resistive design for corridors . Generally 5/8
inch sheet rock on both sides of metal or 2 X 4 's wood
r framing 16 inches on center will suffice.

3 . One set of approved plans bearing the stamps of the
building department issuing the construction permit and
this office must be maintained on the project site
- throughout all phases of construction and must be made
available to building and fire inspectors for reference
during required constructio,-i inspections . UBC Sec . 303

4 . Prior to the use and occupancy of the project (space) ,
a certificate of occupancy or other written instrument
of approval must be obtained from the building
department issuing the construction permit. UBC Sec.
307
5 . Inspection and approval of construction by a
representative of this office is required: (a) prior
to the cover of any new framing elements following the
installation of: all utility runs which will he
concealed within wall and partition cavities; (b) upon
completion of construction and prior to occupancy of
the tenant space. UBC Sec . 305
