Information has been rec,_ived by this office regarding "barking dogs" and the
"keeping of farm animals" withti 100 feet of adjoi-ing property. I have
enclosed copies of the Tigard Municipal Code pertaining to these issues for
your review. I have visited your location Pad verified that your dogs were
barking loud enough to be heard on the street. This may be of concern to your
neighbors as well as the keeping of non-domestic animals (chickens, ducks,
etc.) within 100 feet of your neighbor's residence,.
Further, if yi,u are raising the dogs or other animals for commercial. purposes,
you could be in violation of Tigard's Home Occupation Permit requirements.
I would be happy to meet with you and discuss this situation so as to resolve
this matter before complaints are received.

Dpar Mr. Riggan:
The City of Tigard has received a complaint that an apparent violation of
4;ection 18.50.030 — Permitted Uses in the R-4.5 Single Family Residential zone
exists on your property at 11790 SW 98th Avenue. Please be advised that
keeping livestock other than households pets in the R-4.5 ror.., is allowed only
if the livestock is housed or within a fenced run at least 100 feet away from
any residence other than the dwelling on the same lot. Your cooperation in
taking immediate action to prevent a violation of the Municipal Code is
appreciated.
For your information, the applicable CoJe provisions read as follows:
16.50 R-4.a {i,500 square feet) SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL.
18.50.030 Permitted Uses
Permitted Uses in the R-4 .5 district are as follows.
(1) Single family detached residential units
(2) Public support facilities
(3) Residential Homes (Residential Care Facilities)

Farming. Farming, truck gardening, orchards, and nurseries,
provided no retail or wholesale business sales office is

livestock, other than normal household pets, are housed or
