A fire and life safety plan review was conducted on the above-
captioned project for compliance with the 1985 editions of the Uniform
Building Code (UBC), Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC), and the Uniform
Fire Code (UFC) as amended by Washington County Fire District's
Ordinance 86-1.
The plans are approved subject to the following conditions:
1. 'Hand hails: Hand rail for the stairway system shall be pro-
vided at not closer than 30 inches nor more than 34 inches
above the nose of the stair treads. Hand grip portion of the
hand rail shall not be less than 1-1/4 inches nor more than
inches in cross-section. Hand rail shall project from the
wall. with a space of not less than 1 1/2 inches.

2. Exterior Exit Door: Hardware for the exterior doors and key-•
operated deadlocks may be permitted where there is a sign posted
on or over the door reading, "THIS DOOR K'JST REMAIN UNLOCKED

on a contrasting background.

3. Automatic Sprinkler Plans: Plans referred to and examined
by this office contain no provisions for the alteration or
installation of automatic sprinkler system. Not less than
three sets of plans for the Installation shall be submitted to
this office for approval prior to installation.
4. Fire Extinguisher Required: A fire extinguisher having a mini-
mum rating of 2A-10B:C must be placed In an accessible location
within plain view.

5. Approved Plans on Job Site One set of approved plans bearing
the stamps of the Tigard Building Department and this office must
be maintained on the project site throughout all phases of con-
struction and must be made available to building and fire inspec-
tors for reference during required construction inspections.

by a representative of this office is required: (a) prier to the
cover of any new framing elements following the installation of
all utility runs which will be concealed within wall and partition
