Tatum Boulevard Phoenix, AZ 85028 Dear Mr. Udkow, RE: Wilson Suede and Leather Retail Store Washington Square A fire and life safety plan review was conducted on the above- captioned project for compliance with the 1985 editions of the Uniform Building Code (UBC), Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC), and Lite Uniform Fire Code (UFC) as amended by Washington County Fire District No. 1's Ordinance 86-1. The plans are approved subject to the following items. 1. New Fitting Rooms If the wall of the new fitting room extends to within 18 inches of the ceiling, automatic sprinkler protection will be required to be installed. 2. Interior Finish; Interior finishes shall not exceed [lame spreads of 25 for stairways, 75 for cortidors, and 200 for other area. Smoke density of materials used shall not exceed 450. (UBC Chapter 41) 1. FirestoppinB: In all wood-framed walls and partitions, fire- stopping consisting of 2-inch nominnlly-sized .lumber or other approved materials must be installed at all floor and ceiling levels. Penetrations in this prescribed firestopping to accommodate wiring, plumbinte, and other similar utility rutin must be packed with noncombustible materials in an approved manner so as to prevent the passage of flame. (UBC Sec. 2516) 4. Mechanical Plans Required: Plans referred to and examined by this office contained no plans [or heating or air condition- ing systems. Unless electric baseboard heat. is employed, complete mechanical system plans for the HVAC equipment and duct work must be submitted to and approved by this office prior to iustnllation. Certificate of Occupancy Required: Prior to the use and occupancy of the project (space), a certificate of occu- pancy or other written instrument of approval must be obtained from the City of Tigard Building Department.
