Bob:
We are proposing to use the attached detailing to provide the one hour assembly for the corridor ceilings in lieu of the detail as found
on 6/A4.6. The essential difference is that we want to raise the lid all the way to the bottom of the sstructure. Due to the existing
elevations and the conflicts with new ceiling heights, this will allow us to provide the client with the intended design. Further, we
would use this same detailing to provide duct tunnels through the protected one hour assembly to the non-rated areas, thereby
avoiding the costly installation of over 77 smoke/fire dampers at an estimated cost each of$965. This alone would save the owner
about $75K. I wwouldappreciate your looking at this minor change and calling me about it at your earliest convenience.

of this issue is therefore very important to our schedule.
