Durham, Oregcn
In September 1972, this office performed a soils investigation
at the subject site for the purpose of providing recommendations for
foundation support. Subsequent to that investigation, we observed
settlement plate readings obtained during the time the site was
subjected to a preload fill .
On the basis of our investigations, it is our conclusion that
foundations for support of buildings may he designed for a maximum
allowable bearing pressure of 2,000 lb/sq ft. This pertains to footings
founded at a depth of 11 and 2 ft, respectively, for interior ant,
exterior footings.

iAt the request of Jor_gens Construction Company, I inspected
jthe in-progress footing excavations at the above cafe-onced
project.
( After this inspection I recuested an additional inspection
by our soils consultant, names & loore . Toni• Wright of
that firm, later inspectec: the footing excavz tions and dui.-
ing a telephone conversation between myself and Mr. Iry
Olsen, managing partner of that firm, we decided that the
extarior footing should be excavated to oricinal material
approximately 14 ' to 18 ' i:Flow finish floor and then over-
sized compacted gravel back fill should be placed in the
excavation up to the normal footing elevations . The exte-
rior footing would then be founded upon the compacted gra-
vel . It was decided that the interior footing for the
lbuilaing floor slabs could be supported on the insitu fill .
(Although this ;gill not provide ideal support for the above ,
it Ehould meet �,ith some m,-.intenance allowable criteria for
this building.

This will acknowledge .7eceipt of your letter dated Jan-
uary 18, 1977 regarding you: request to install a 1250-gallon
sewage holding tank. The halding tank will be for Buil.ding
No. 4, Oregon Industrial Park, located near 16300 S.W. 72nd
Avenue (Section 13, T2S, R1W,
We have reviewed your proposal and are in receipt of your
$100 permit fee.
The Department herewith approves the installation of a
holding tank as authorized under Oregon Administrative Rules
(OAR) Chapter 340, Section 71-037 (3) (B) . We are therefore
issuing you an alternate sewage disposal permit, No. Ill.-77,
under the following conditions:
1. The holding tank shall be a minimum of 1250
gallon., capacity.
2. The tank shall b-n equipped with a warning de-
vice to indicate when the tank is within 754
of being full. The darning device shall create
both an audible and a visible signal at a loca-
tion fregtiented by the responsible individual.
3. Evidence must be provided fron a licensed, bonded
sewage pumping company tha" the tank will b,--
limped
alimped periodically, at regular intervals, and
te contents disposed of at an approved treatment
facility. We are in receipt of Mr. Pickar's ser-
vice contract. Records of pumping dates and amounts
pumped are to be maintained and made available to
the Department of Envirorunental Quality upon request.

4. Inspection of Uie installed system by Washington
County Department of Public Health, Plumbing Sec-
tion, must be accomplished prior to putting the
holding tank into use.
5. The holding tank must be abandoned and connection
made to the area-wide sewerage system as soon as
service becomes available.
