WASHINGTON May 9, 1966 City of Tigard Tigard, Oregon Attention: Mr. Bob Logan Re: Burlwood Subdivision Gentl, amen: On May 5, 1966 the writer and Mr. Hardie from the Pettijohn Engineer- ing Company inspected the streets ii-, the Burlwood Subdivision. The curbs and paving had been completed as follows: (a) On S. W. Sl;mmer Crest Drive from S. W. 121st Avenue to the southeasterly edge of Lot 1, Block 3. (b) On S. W. Burlcrest Drive from Summor Crest Drive to the north- easterly edge of Lot 6, Block 3. The curbs and paving appeared to have been properly constructed origi- nally, but the present house builder is using :he streets to stockpile excavated material and has broken and chipped the curbs with his exca- vation equipment. Also t%e builder his been breaking out the curbs to install drain pipes and driveways and has been doing a very poor job of repairing the curbs. To guarantee the City of Tigard that the streets were properly con- structed and are in an acceptable condition, we recommend that the following items be completed: (a) The City receive a letter from the County Engineering Department certifying that the above streets were constructed to County stand- ards. (b) That the Contractors furnish the City with a Guarantee and Mainte- nince Bond for 100010 of the cost of the streets to include care of backfilling of ditches or at structures should the fill settle to such extent as to require refilling or resurfacing roadway surfaces to restore the original or intended condition or grade.
