within the boundaries of this State without a proper license and installation
permit. Any Boiler or Pressure Vessel that is installed without said permit

Dear Mr. Gray:
On February 22, 1983 Deputy Fire Marshall Gene Birchill (Tualatin Rural
Fire Protection District) and I performed an inspection of your building
located at 9920 SW Tigard Street (tenant space occupied by Bert Farnes
Company) Building Permit 54270.
It was discovered at that time the building had been occupied prior to
issuance of an occupancy permit.
There are several corrections in need of IMMEDIATE attention:
J. Seal holes in sheetrock under the stairs
2. Handrails must return to walls, Section 3305 (j)(UBC)
3. Guardrails must have minimum height of 42", with inter-
mediate rails spaced so a 9" sphere cannot pass through.
Section 17.16 (UBC)
4. Provide bracing for plumbing vent passing through office
space upstairs.
5. Provide barrier around gas appliance vent . Section 904 (UMC)
6. Permit required for storage mezzanine.

/,-8. Provide propar support for vent connector of boiler
9. Provide combustion air for boiler (1 sq. inch for each 1000
BTU input, � to be supplied to upper portion oc boiler room
space, if to be supplied in lower ;portion) Section 6C1(b)3 (UMC) .
10. Locking device for front exit door from office shall be of
simple knowledge type not requiring special tools, key or effort
toop, n (ie. , "Thumb Twist") or be "indicating" keyed lock with
sigti over door stating "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN l"'LOCKED DURING
BUSINESS HOURS." Section 3303(C) (UBC)
You are hereby notified to correct the above violations within ten (10)
days.
